PetVet offers visa sponsorship for qualified veterinarians seeking temporary work authorization in the U.S.
If you have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from a U.S. or American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited institution (or foreign equivalent) and are eligible to apply for U.S. state licensure, you may qualify for employment-based sponsorship by PetVet under one of the following temporary non-immigrant visa categories:
Canadian and Mexican citizens may qualify for a TN visa to work in the U.S. in certain professional occupations, which includes veterinarians. For more information regarding the TN visa category, please refer to the USCIS website link below.
Australian nationals may be eligible for an E-3 visa to work in a specialty occupation, which includes veterinarians. For more information regarding the E-3 visa category, please refer to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration (USCIS) website link below.
Chilean and Singaporean nationals may be eligible for a H-1B1 visa to work in a specialty occupation, which includes veterinarians. For more information regarding the H-1B1 visa category, please refer to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration (USCIS) website link below.
A H-1B visa may be available to individuals with a DVM or its foreign equivalent in the specialty occupation of veterinarian subject to U.S. government-mandated annual H-1B visa quota allotments and timelines for first-time H-1B workers, and subject to the maximum H-1B visa duration allowance for existing H-1B workers. To become licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the U.S., an unlicensed DVM typically must:
1. Pass the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE)
2. Graduate from an AVMA-accredited DVM program or complete one of the following:
