Referral Coordinator
Job Title: Referral Coordinator
Department: VRCC
Reports To: Hospital Administrator/Regional Manager
Summary
The Referral Coordinator position advises and works in the planning, budgeting, and execution of the annual marketing strategy. Guidance for the marketing strategy is based on data collection and analysis, knowledge of industry trends, and understanding of best marketing practices. The Referral Coordinator part of this position maintains relationships with referring veterinarians.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain up-to-date PMS rDVM information
- Hospital visits and deliveries
- Analyzing referral patterns
- Addressing any issues that come up with rDVMs
- Delivering consumables
- Social Media
- Maintain a presence and build interactive audience on hospital social media platforms.
- Maintain awareness of new social media platforms for potential expansion.
- Online Reputation Management
- Monitor online reviews, manage online business listing content, and solicit or write on-line reviews to counter negative reviews on public sites.
- CalPro Survey email requests
- Design internal newsletter for VRCC employees (bimonthly)
- Design VRCC quarterly newsletters that are mailed and emailed to rDVMs
- Maintain up-to-date email list for all rDVMs to send updates
- Organize and execute Regional CE events
- Organize and execute Lunch & Learn CE events
- Sponsorship and Advertising Opportunities
- Responsible for all aspects of collateral development and management
- Negotiate contracts with advertising vendors
- Identify sponsorship opportunities
- Community Event Coordination
- Manning booths at various community and public awareness events
- Taking VRCC consumables to events for handouts
- Talking with the general public about our hospital and services
- Manning booths at various community and public awareness events
- Updating VRCC forms and other collateral as needed
- Multimedia Projects
- Coordinate with photographer(s) and/or videographer(s) to create videos, galleries and/or other multimedia projects to showcase the hospital.
- Maintaining up-to-date VRCC website information
- Designing various consumables
- End-of-year wall calendars that are mailed to all Colorado DVMs
- Hand delivered to the top 30-50 referrers
- End-of-year wall calendars that are mailed to all Colorado DVMs
- Serves on VIAC (VRCC Internal Awareness Committee)

Education
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one-two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variable in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of DVMax, Adobe Design Software, Microsoft Office software and Internet software
Other Skills and Abilities
General understanding of veterinary medical terminology and be comfortable with animals in a medical environment is preferred.
