Veterinary Technician

Boulder Emergency Pet Clinic seeks full-time RVT to join our team of big-hearted, animal-loving, rockstar individuals. We are a small hospital, but we make up for it in our dedication to patient care and positive atmosphere. Veterinary experience with an RVT license is required, and emergency medicine is a plus. Our dedicated and knowledgeable technicians are the heart of our team and are utilized to their fullest potential. Our clinic focuses on high-quality medicine and strives to provide gold-standard service to our clients.
As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:
- Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure, and alerting the Veterinarian to changes and issues.
- Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including proper positioning of patients.
- Have a complete understanding of the normal range of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
- Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
- Calculate medical math(including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
- Are proficient at performing venipuncture and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
- Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
- Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
Experience with Avimark and Idexx is helpful. We hire individuals who are confident, friendly, and hardworking, work well with others, and have the ability to work independently.
We seek positive individuals to work daytime, swing, and overnight shifts. We schedule 3 12-hour work weeks, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, giving a 4-day “weekend” during the week. All holidays are paid double, and overnight shifts have a competitive differential. We do our best to accommodate the various scheduling needs of our team members. We would also like to mention that in the Fall of 2024, Boulder Emergency Pet Clinic will leave Boulder and move our hospital to a brand-new facility in Longmont, Colorado!
Pay: $25.00- $29.00 /hour depending on experience
