Veterinary Technician Team Lead | Whitesburg Animal Hospital
Whitesburg Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced and dynamic leader with a growth mindset to support and guide our clinical staff! Established in 1985 and led by Medical Director Dr. Staci Armstrong, the hospital is a 4-doctor hospital with an exceptional clinical team to care for Huntsville's pets. Our team performs extensive procedures and is an excellent location to teach and develop hard and soft skills in veterinary medicine.

As a leadership team member, you will be directly involved in clinical staff education and training to ensure we provide the best possible medicine for our patients. Position Overview:
A working team lead who performs the duties of medical technical staff (e.g., technicians and assistants) as well as guiding the clinical team. In charge of maintaining and improving patient care standards for the department. Must lead the team by example, demonstrating organizational skills, following company policies, and maintaining a professional attitude.
Essential Functions:
- Provide leadership and guidance to veterinary technicians and assistants, enforcing company policies, and communicating new practices and policies regarding technical duties
- Oversee scheduling and workflow to ensure efficient patient care.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices, protocols, and procedures.
- Perform the duties of a technician or assistant, as scheduled.
- Liaison with other departments and leads regarding patient care and hospital operations; resolve issues, as needed.
- Oversee cleaning, stocking, and inventory duties for the treatment room and exam rooms.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and reports issues to the hospital manager.
- Exhibit confidentiality and professionalism in all regards for employee issues; be proactive in the approach to issue resolution.
- Keep hospital management informed of any issues or risks that might impact operations or employee relations; work with the management team to resolve.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine and share knowledge with the team.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or the equivalent.
- Veterinary Technician Registration
- High level of competence in the complete range of veterinary technician skills.
- Working in a team environment.

Additional Notes:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
- AviMark competency preferred.
- Familiar with Antech reference lab as well as HESKA analyzers and IDEXX snap pro analyzers.
