Financial Manager
Position Overview:
The Financial Manager is a key strategic partner in driving the financial and operational performance of our hospital. This role goes beyond the numbers — while responsible for core financial functions such as budgeting, reporting, revenue cycle management, and compliance, the Financial Manager at VRA also plays a hands-on leadership role, managing a team of 2–3 medical billers and 5–10 Administrative Department Coordinators and Customer Service Leads.
We’re looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in financial management, proven experience leading teams, and a practical understanding of how hospital departments collaborate to deliver exceptional care in a fast-paced, service-oriented setting.
Financial & Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, financial reporting, and A/P & A/R reconciliation
- Advanced experience in revenue cycle management and financial compliance
- Proficiency in financial modeling (in Excel), strategic planning, and process improvement
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to practice management software
Leadership & Operational Management
- Proven ability to supervise and lead cross-functional teams by fostering a positive, collaborative team culture in a high-volume setting
- Strong organizational, time-management, and decision-making skills
- Experience resolving complex client and operational issues
Communication & Client Relations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service mindset and conflict resolution abilities
- Experience developing and implementing client-facing financial policies
- Skilled at working with staff across all levels and functions
Healthcare & Industry Knowledge
- Experience in veterinary or human healthcare finance preferred (but not required)
- Understanding of the financial dynamics, terminology, and payment processes within hospitals or other service-driven healthcare environments
