Radiation Oncology Veterinary Technician
Would you like to learn a new unique skill set? We are currently looking for Technicians to join our Oncology Department and learn to run our Trilogy Linear Accelerator. We believe in using our Technicians to their full potential. Technicians in our Oncology Department are cross-trained in both Radiation Oncology as well as Medical Oncology. In addition to learning to administer radiation therapy utilizing the Linear Accelerator you will also learn to use our CT, run complex anesthetic cases, and treat medical oncology patients using the phaseal system. Our Oncology Technicians enjoy a 4-day workweek. Monday through Thursday 8a-6pm.
Our 30,000 sq. ft. facility is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment including a 16 slice CT, MRI, Endoscopy, Multiple Mechanical Ventilators, two Digital Radiology suites, both Flat-bed and C-Arm Fluoroscopy, a Linear Accelerator, an Operating Microscope and Nuclear Scintigraphy.
We have separate Gastrointestinal, Respiratory and Intensive Care Isolation Units, a separate and dedicated cat ward as well as a dedicated I-131 treatment ward. We have specialists in Anesthesiology, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Surgery. We actively promote cross training in all the departments and we are seeking motivated individuals who are interested in learning how to run all of the hospital's equipment and perform all of our intricate procedures.
Preference will be given to veterinary technicians with experience, though we are willing to train the right person if highly motivated.

Ideal Candidate’s Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have excellent phlebotomy skills
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Ability to take initiative, follow direction and work in a team-oriented environment
- Must have sound decision making skills and be able to multi-task while working in an environment of stress
- Ability to safely and securely restrain animals using proper restraint techniques
Oncology Veterinary Technicians are responsible for, but not limited to:
- Placing Chemotherapy IV Catheters
- Drug calculations
- Safe Chemotherapy administration using the Phaseal system
- Hospitalized patient nursing care
- Advanced diagnostics: Ultrasounds and CTs
- Blood transfusions
- Client communication and education
2+ years’ experience as a veterinary technician is required.
RVT preferred
