Veterinary Assistant

Position Overview: The veterinary assistant provides support to the veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks by cleaning and maintaining equipment, feeding, exercising and grooming patients, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and clerical and administrative work. They deliver quality care for all patients and provide exceptional service.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, and surgeries
  • Handle and restrain animals during examinations and treatments
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed by veterinarians
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and collect samples for analysis
  • Clean and maintain examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is preferred
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques
  • Familiarity with common veterinary procedures and medications
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay Range
$19$21 USD
