Rockland Veterinary Care is a network of three animal hospitals that has been serving Rockland County since 2007. We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic and professional Veterinary Assistants to join our growing team and currently have part-time or full time positions available. Flexible schedule with some weekends. We offer a very competitive wage and benefits program.
The ideal applicant will have at least one year of veterinary experience, possess excellent technical skills, as well as strong communication and computer skills. A caring and compassionate attitude, along with the ability to multitask is essential for success in this position.

Our hospitals provide a full spectrum of services including wellness exams, immunizations, laser surgery, digital radiography, in-house laboratory services and ultrasound.

Position Overview:
The veterinary assistant provides support to the veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks including assisting in appointments, restraining and handling patients, and clerical and administrative work. They deliver quality care for all patients and provide exceptional service.
Tasks include:
- Triage patients, treatments, and administer medication as directed by the Licensed Veterinary Technicians; maintain accurate medical records.
- Assist doctors and technicians with the administration of medications or with patient restraint.
- Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
- Fill prescriptions, administer medications,
- Maintain the cleanliness of the hospital each day; clean equipment, kennels and facilities using chemicals and supplies; ensure the safe use of chemicals; complete laundry.
