Licensed Veterinary Technician
Miller Clark Animal Hospital is a rapidly expanding community staple recently undergoing exciting changes related to new management. We are thrilled to add additional doctors and qualified staff to our team. If you want to be a part of a rapidly growing hospital we would love to connect!
*Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, wound care, and dental cleanings
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples
- Take X-rays
- Clean and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and instruments
- Provide compassionate care to animals and their owners
```Qualifications:```
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in veterinary technology required
- Certification as a veterinary technician is a plus
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital is highly desirable
- Knowledge of animal care and handling techniques
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Proficiency in performing animal catheterization, including IV catheter placement
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and confidently
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
