Experienced Emergency Veterinarian - Berkeley Dog & Cat Hospital

Berkeley Dog & Cat Hospital is currently looking for an Experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join our established practice in beautiful Berkeley, CA. Our hospital is open to providing General Practice, Urgent Care & 24-Hour Emergency Services to our clients & their beloved pets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing emergency and critical care in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Diagnosing and treating a variety of conditions, such as trauma (e.g., hit by a car), shock, respiratory distress, diabetic ketoacidosis, seizures, and more.
  • Performing emergency surgeries and procedures as needed.
  • Effectively communicating with pet owners, providing compassionate care to both pets and their families.
  • Collaborating with the veterinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and staying informed about the latest advances in emergency medicine.

In addition to the core responsibilities, the ideal candidate should:

  • Have experience in emergency or high-volume veterinary practice.
  • Be proficient with advanced diagnostic tools and medical equipment.
  • Work efficiently under pressure and during non-traditional hours.
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking, critical thinking, and agility in managing rapidly changing patient conditions.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
  • Maintain strong organizational and time management skills.

Within our 15,000 square foot facility, we have a fully stocked pharmacy, in house laboratory, helical CT scan, two X-ray suites, ultrasound, operating microscope, endoscopes, a comprehensive dental suite, and extensive specialty surgery equipment in two surgical suites.

- $225,000 to $250,000+ Salary

- Lucrative Quarterly Production Plan-No Deficit Carryover

- $50,000 Multi-Year Signing Bonus

- Paid Relocation
