Equine Veterinary Assistant
Who We Are:
We are a busy Equine-specific veterinary practice that offers both ambulatory and outpatient appointments, as well as a full hospitalization and referral surgery. What We Are Looking For:
Ideally, you are a motivated & energetic person who wants to enjoy coming to work every day. You must be an effective communicator with the ability to muti-task. Prior horse experience is required; prior veterinary experience is preferred, but not mandatory. Attention to detail is necessary and a sense of humor is highly recommended.
Our Veterinary Assistants/Technicians:
- Assist doctors with exams, treatments & procedures
- Assist hospital team in care of hospitalized cases
- Enter invoices and medical records
- Maintain equipment and inventory program
- Provide exceptional client service- in person & over the phone
- Surgical preparation and assisting
- Maintain facility cleanliness
- Get to work outside a lot of the time (but sometimes it rains.. make sure you bring your jacket!)
Qualifications:
- 3+ years horse experience
- 1+ years veterinary experience (preferred, but not required)
Schedule: Full or Part time opportunities; Seasonal positions also available. We utilize a 4 x 10 hour work week.
Compensation: Starting wage is $17 - 20 per hour. Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field.
