Emergency/Specialty Lead
For the treatment leads to have a good overview of the day it is important the leads do their best to stay in treatment. Whenever the leads will not be in treatment there should be a backup person appointed who can answer questions and keep the flow going.
Essential Position Functions:
- Round with Overnight technician (include patients, staff updates, goodsams, and upcoming dismissals) and take over tasks as needed for overnight technician to end shift.
- Facilitate taking ProCyte out of standby mode.
- Write up Daily Board
- Check in with AM ICU technician (when appropriate- avoid interrupting DVM and Technician Rounds)
- Assign PCU/Recovery technician if none is scheduled.
All Leads:
- Update wait times throughout the day depending on cases and staffing.
- Stay mindful of procedures (sedation, anesthesia, etc.) throughout the shift.
- Check and complete RN callbacks within 24 hours (can be delegated to team members if needed)
- Ensure cleaning lists (daily, weekly, and monthly) are getting completed.
- Double checking all tasks on triage are completed.
- Ensure instinct is up to date.
Attitude/Teamwork
- Demonstrate initiative and teamwork in everyday duties by seeking other work to do during slack times, assisting other employees within the practice, and filling in for other employees.
- Making sure technicians/assistants are communicating with the lead or the lead is communicating with the team if they/you will be assisting other employees outside the treatment area and making sure they/you are not needed in treatment.
- Organize work area and exercise time management skills to maximize personal efficiency within the practice.
- Prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
- Demonstrate communication skills by making sure to keep other leads, DVMs, CSR and team members up to date on patients for best patient care.
