Veterinary Technician

Leading Veterinary Ophthalmology care in South Florida, we provide premier ocular care to domestic pets as well as exotics. Animal Eye Guys opened their doors in 2012 and was founded by Dr. Robert Swinger. We have grown from a single location to serving multiple counties throughout the state of Florida from 6 different locations. Our clinics have extraordinarily talented teams and we always strive to provide a memorable experience to each and every client through our over and above standard of care and our ability to educate our pet parents on the healthcare concern at hand.
Our Opportunity:
· Full time, experienced Veterinary Technician
· Ft. Lauderdale
· 4 day work week
· Occasional Saturdays
What you’ll need:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Veterinary Hospital Experience; Minimum 2 years
· State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician (preferred but not required)
· Anesthesia Experience
· Must be available to work 30+ hours per week between Monday and Saturday
· Excellent written and verbal communication
· Interest in learning about Veterinary Ophthalmology
Technician duties include, but are not limited to:
· Acquisition of history and vitals
· Assisting doctors with exams using safe patient restraint
· Venipuncture, intravenous catheters
· In-house Laboratory (IDEXX equipment), Preparing Cytology
· Calculate and administer medications including injections
· Perform anesthesia and assist in procedures
· Keep accurate and detailed medical records, including accurate invoicing. Experience with Cornerstone practice software is helpful, but not required
· Accurately fill prescriptions
· Client communication
· Maintaining a clean and organized hospital alongside the veterinary assistant

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Veterinary experience: 2 years (Preferred)
